Timeshare Resales are there any differences?
The answer is very simple. In most cases no apart from the obvious price difference most timeshare resales are exactly the same as buying direct from the resort or developer who runs or actions the usage rights and privileges for the particular program or ownership in question.
When buying a Timeshare Resale do I get exactly the same product?
When buying a timeshare resale through Visions of the World, you will find that in most cases that there is know difference whats so ever in the ownership usage. However if there are any usage rights that are not passed on at the point of sale Visions of the World will make you aware of these differences and how they may or may not affect you and your timeshare resale ownership.

In most cases when buying a timeshare resale exchange company membership such as RCI (Resort Condominiums International) or II (Interval International) is optional, and not included within the purchase price. This is in most cases because the purchase is secured by the agent and the purchase is based on the timeshare ownership resort. Exchange Company membership can be obtained directly from the exchange company at their annual rates, for costs view their websites or give them a call.
Can I exchange Timeshare Resales?
Yes all timeshare resales can be exchanged through an exchange network such as RCI (Resort Condominiums International), II (Interval International) or Dial an Exchange. Visions of the World will make available to you upon agreeing a timeshare resale purchase the exchange company available to you for exchange purposes.
When buying timeshare resales are the maintenance fees the same?
Yes the maintenance fees will be the same. When you purchase a timeshare resale you are buying the same property or program purchased by the owner originally and the annual fees will be passed over to the new owner and invoiced directly from the management company or resort association. Maintenance fees will be due in most cases from the year that you receive your first occupancy and invoiced each year there after.
Can I buy timeshare resales at all resorts?
Yes, you can purchase a timeshare resale at any resort subject to Visions of the World having registered that property for sale through our International Marketing Program. You will find that most timeshare developments do not put in place a provision for timeshare resales, this being the case Visions of the World register and market resales to the International market through our website.
Are Timeshare Resales owned for the same length of time?
Yes, Timeshare Resales are sold with the same rights as far as usage length is concerned. The length of ownership will be indicated on the original timeshare agreement and will be passed over through the sale procedure to the new owner to run until the expiry date or in perpetuity if deeded for life.
Are the rights and privileges the same when buying timeshare resales?
Yes, in most cases when buying a timeshare on the secondary market the benefits will remain the same as from the original purchase that was made from the resort and marketer. However there are a few isolated cases where there are small variations on the program from new to resale. In these cases the Timeshare Resales Company should make you aware of these differentiations.
When buying Marriott Vacation Club Timeshare Resales do I gain the Rewards Program?
No, when you purchase a Marriott Vacation Club property on the timeshare resales market the Marriott's Reward Points program is non transferable. You will only obtain the Marriott's Reward Points program when you purchase the Marriott Vacation Club directly from Marriott themselves.
Do Marriott have the first right of refusal on Timeshare Resales?
Yes, when a timeshare that is in the Marriott Vacation Club is sold on the secondary Timeshare Resales market Marriott have the first right of refusal. Visions of the World have a very good working relationship with the Marriott Resales department in Orlando, and transfer of ownership is expedited within the resale guidelines provided by Marriott's Orlando office.
Do all Timeshare Resales Companies work in the same way?
No, some resale companies are known as Full Service Timeshare Resales Company, which Visions of the World are. Dealing with all necessary work to complete the transaction from start to finish starting with: -
- The marketing of the ownership
- Dealing with the offer process from the buyer
- Leading to the contractual section where Visions of the World will expedite all paperwork
- The resort verification process
- The transfer procedure and all necessary additional paperwork
- Resort confirmation of transfer complete
- Distribution of funds to all parties concerned.
This method of timeshare resales is preferred by many, and allows the owners a one stop scenario. There are also companies who will market your ownership as a For Sale By Owner for an advertising cost. This method will leave the owner to liaise the deal from start to finish through all sections of the procedure above.
Are Visions of the World members of any governing bodies?
Yes, we are members of the European timeshare association RDO (Resort Development Organisation), ARDA (American Resort Development Association), which covers all the US states and there laws and requirements and CRDA (Canadian Resort Development Association). Can I exchange a timeshare resale purchased at Anfi del Mar?
Yes when buying a timeshare resale at any one of the Anfi del Mar resorts an exchange program is available through Dial an Exchange. This exchange program can be accessible from any one of the following Anfi resorts: -
You could also join Interval International if you buy a timeshare resales at Club Monte Anfi. Club Monte Anfi is the only Anfi del Mar resort that is registered with II. The Anfi Vacation Club is a program that is sold only by the Anfi Group of Resorts in Gran Canaria. The Anfi Vacation Club is a none transferable program that can only be accessed if paying the full developer price.
Can I purchase points on the resale market?
Yes, most vacation points systems are available on the Resales market. Depending on the program in question for example, RCI Points, Hilton Grand Vacations Club and Disney Vacation Club are all offered through our website for Resale on the open market. There are some requirements for transfer and first right of refusal, however with the experience we have within the Timeshare Resales sector these are procedures that we know very well.
