Timeshare Points
Points programs have become more readily available over the last 5 to 10 years, with many developers and exchange companies entering into the Points arena. You will find Points programs attached to many good Vacation Club programs, such as Disney Vacation Club, Diamond Resorts International and Hilton Grand Vacations Club, and you may also come across programs like the RCI Points. Timeshare Points programs are renowned for their flexibility of use, and are essentially a form of in-network currency.
With exchange companies such as RCI and II, you have an allocation of points yearly designated in some cases by the timeshare weeks that you own. The allocated amount of Points will depend on the season, size of unit and location of the resort. The allocation of Points can then be used to access in-network resorts, and other offers available through your Exchange Company or developer.
With Vacation Clubs, owners are in most cases allocated a certain amount of Points every year. Once their allocation has been granted the owners can use their Points to travel to one of many resorts within the Vacation Clubs network of resorts. In some cases a specific deeded week and unit back Points.
