RCI has become the market leader in exchange vacations since there inception in 1974. With more than three million timeshare owner family members, and more than 5000 affiliated resorts in over 100 different countries, RCI are clearly the dynamic force behind the incredible growth of timeshare ownership over the last 35 years. RCI weeks member benefits
- RCI week for week exchange through their extensive space bank of worldwide vacation resorts. Exchange your timeshare week with another that has been space banked and is one if thousands of available weeks through RCI weeks exchange.
- RCI Vacation Protection is available for all weeks members, and allows them the flexibility to change or cancel their vacation. This will have no effect on your trading power, and if you cancel your exchange you will be credited back your exchange fee towards your next week for week exchange.
- RCI extend a deposit facility will allow you to extend your deposit by up to one year past the expiry date of your banked week. For example, if your deposit is available for exchange up to the 16th of August 2011, you can extend this through RCI up to the 16th of August 2012.
- RCI Ongoing Search service enables an RCI weeks member the ability to request an ongoing booking if not available when first requested. RCI will search 24/7 and when the exchange that you have requested becomes available they will notify you immediately.
- RCI Guest Certificate allows members to allocate a vacation to a family member or friend who may not be a member of the RCI week for week exchange. This is a great way to treat a family member or friend with a holiday of a lifetime.
- RCI Extra Vacations - Getaways affords members the possibility to take extra holidays above and beyond their weeks banked. Extend your yearly exchange by a week or more, or take unlimited vacations with the getaway weeks available through Extra Vacations.
- RCI Elite Rewards Credit Card members enjoy rewards, and are able to use those Rewards towards their next RCI vacation through their RCI membership.
RCI points member benefits
- RCI Points members are able to exchange their points to any other RCI Points affiliated resort worldwide. Members have the flexibility to access any size of unit, week of the year and quality of resort.
- RCI Points, Borrow, Extend and Rent Points with your membership to RCI Points. Members with RCI Points are able to extend their holidays by borrowing from future allocations to enable greater flexibility. Or alternatively you can rent additional points through RCI to increase your RCI Points balance for that special once in a lifetime holiday.
- RCI Points Vacation Protection, as above with RCI week for week exchange.
- RCI Points Guest Certificate, as above with RCI week for week exchange.
- RCI Extra Vacations - Getaways, as above with RCI week for week exchange, RCI Extra Vacations or Getaways are accessible by RCI Points members who are saving their yearly points allocation for a future holiday, or a member who is looking for additional vacations above and beyond their yearly allocation.
- RCI Last Call Vacations are very similar to RCI Extra Vacations - Getaways, however there are a couple of main difference, Last Call Vacations offer greater discounts and are booked within 45 days of travelling. You commonly find that Last Call Vacations are less that $300 for the entire weeks holiday.
- RCI Points Partner Program is an offer available to all RCI Points members that allows them the ability to use their yearly allocation for discounts off a wide range of products and services, these include hotel stays, airline tickets, rental cars and even tickets for theme parks around the world.
- RCI Cruise is a program that allows RCI Points members access to over 50 top cruise lines. Travel the world and visit a number of ports in exotic locations and book up to four cabins with just one exchange.
- RCI TV is a new and exciting way to view your vacation before leaving the comfort of your own home. RCI TV has many featured resorts including the Disney Vacation Club that allows you to stay on-site at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
Interval International
Interval International is the second largest timeshare exchange company having more than 2500 resorts in over 75 countries. Interval International have been delivering vacation exchanges since 1976 and a member data base of over 2 million people. There are many member benefits to be accessed when joining the Interval International exchange network.
Interval International member benefits
- Request First or Deposit First, Interval International allows members to request an exchange BEFORE depositing their timeshare week within their space bank facility. This is unlike RCI and allows you to keep your timeshare week until you have found the exchange that suits your requirements exactly.
- Interval International Getaways are extra weeks of accommodation that members are able to access through their membership without having to exchange their resort weeks. You will find that the deals available through Getaways are great value of money.
- II Guest Certificate allows members share their benefits with friends and family, including exchanges and Getaways alike.
- Interval Travel have many great deals on cruises, airline tickets, car rentals, activities and more. All Interval Travel deals are at members rates saving you thousands over the length of your membership.
- Interval Gold Membership is an upgrade to the standard membership and affords members even more savings and deals including ShortStay Exchange and Gold Concierge
Timeshare Exchange
Regardless of which exchange company you deal with RCI, II or Dial an Exchange you can expect a quality of service, accommodation and facilities, at exotic destinations around the globe. Though the exchange procedure can be very similar, there are small variations from company to company.
Advice on successful exchanges
- Be Flexible - When exchanging through one of the major exchange companies be as flexible as possible, request a number of resorts within the area you are looking for, along with a window of dates. If you take this advice you will more than likely get the exchange that you request.
- Think Ahead - Planning your vacation is an important part of the year so make plans in advice. Bank your ownership as early as possible as the exchange companies will provide you with a better trading power. In turn book as early as possible and there will be more availability at worldwide resorts in many different cities and countries.
- Like for Like exchange policy - When you request an exchange through one of the major exchange networks always be aware that you exchange like for like. For example, if you own a Studio that sleeps 2, you will exchange for a Studio sleeps 2 unless you upgrade by paying any additional fees requested.
- Do you research - Check out the exchange companies before joining, exchange policies, terms and conditions, and whether your home resort has any restrictions with the exchange company of your choice.
