Season
The term Season will indicate the desirability for a specific time of year. All vacation / timeshare resorts will have specific seasons for certain weeks designated by their popularity. The Season will have an impact on the trading power of the timeshare ownership through an exchange company, and the cost to purchase the given ownership. You will expect to pay more for timeshares that fall on special holidays and events, and in turn you will expect a higher trading power from this ownership.
The terms Red Week, Blue Week and Platinum Week are Seasons designated by either your home resort, or the exchange company you are members with. Resorts Condominiums International (RCI) and Interval International (II) have their own seasons designated by time of year, and popularity of location. Though similar RCI designates the seasons Red for High Season, White for Mid and Blue for Low, with II designating Red for High Season, Yellow or Amber for Mid, and Green for Low. Knowing your season of ownership is imperative when coming to exchange, so that you know in advance if there is any limitations.
