Fractional Ownership
Fractional Ownership is very similar to vacation / timeshare ownership. There are many comparisons with fractional and timeshares, shared ownership of a particluar unit or property, flexibility of use and benefits. However when entering into an agreement to buy a fractional ownership, the purchaser will be part owner of the title for that property in question. You will find that most fractional properties are aimed at the high end of the shared ownership market.
Another way fractionals and timeshares differ is that of intervals owned (number of weeks a year within their usage agreement). You will find that in most cases fractionals will be no less than 1/13 share (four weeks) of annual usage, and no more the 1/2 share (twenty six weeks) of annual usage. This allows an individual the ability to purchase something more like a second home without the stress and strange of doing it.
It is widely believed that fractional ownership increases in value more like your home does. The appreciation is due to the exclusivity and location that most fractional ownerships provide. Unlike timeshares, when it comes to selling your fractional ownership you should realise a profit on your long-term investment.
