Exchange
When owning a Vacation / Timeshare Ownership one of the greatest benefits is in the exchanging of the Timeshares through an exchange networks portfolio. Owners are able to Bank (see banking) their Timeshares through an exchange networks space banking program and utilise their ownership at their home resort or at another resort within that exchange networks portfolio. It is believed that around 80% of vacation / timeshare owners use the benefit of their exchange company. Exchange programs vary depending the exchange company in questions so it is advisable to understand the benefits each provides.
A number of larger developer based resorts with more than one timeshare resort may offer there owners an internal exchange program to one of their other resorts, whereby an owner may exchange directly through the developer within the need to use an external exchange company. For example, if you own timeshares at the Marriott's Grande Vista resort in Orlando you may be afforded the option to exchange to one of the many Marriott Vacation Club resort properties.
