Escritura
The term Escritura as far as timeshares is concerned is widely found in Spain and Portugal. Some but not all vacation / timeshare ownership in these countries is held in deeded form. The word Escritura is Spanish / Portuguese for writing, hence the Deed or Document has been written as per the sales agreement and recorded with the land registry.
In simple terms, the vacation / timeshare ownership is held by the owner as if he were buying a home in this country, extremely similar to buying a home in the UK or US, whereby your ownership is recorded by a lawyer or solicitor with the land registry. However in this case it would only be the period of time purchased through the vacation / timeshare program offered i.e., if you purchased a 2 week timeshare program at the Wimpen Sueno Azul, just the weeks and fixed unit, would be recorded with the land registry in Tenerife.
This is how Escritura differs to a Right to Use, or Lease, vacation / timeshare ownership program.
