Bonus Time
The term Bonus Time is associated with timeshare resorts that offer additional weeks to their owner members. This is time spent at the owners home resort that falls outside their allocated yearly requirement of weeks. These are commonly known as Developer Bonus Weeks. Bonus Time offers can come in a number of different forms, reduced rates for rental (the savings can be huge with discounts of up to 50%), and in some cases weeks are offered at no cost to increase occupancy levels and add additional revenue from the owners taking advantage of Bonus Time weeks, offsetting these extra funds against operating costs.
Bonus Time is especially beneficial to owners because it does not affect their right to use or deeded agreement. It is an offer that suits both the resort and owner utilising the vacant weeks that become available. In some cases the weeks offered are unsold developer weeks and issued directly by reservations. When purchasing a timeshare or vacation ownership Bonus Time weeks maybe offered within the deal agreement. RCI and II may from time to time also offer Bonus Time holidays through membership to there exchange networks. Exchange Companies may also give incentives such as Bonus Time vacations when depositing or banking their ownership with the exchange company space bank.
