Anniversary Date
The term Anniversary Date can have multiple meanings within the timeshare industry. In traditional timeshare ownership, the Anniversary Date would indicate the first year of usage. Some resorts define the use year to indicate the time frame for that usage week. In some cases the owner would have that year to use their week or risk losing it for that calendar year. In this case this indicates the date on which the owner purchased their vacation ownership from the developer. When purchasing a Timeshare Resale through Visions of the World, the Anniversary Date generally remains the same from seller to buyer.
When the term Anniversary Date is used in conjunction with a points program, the term Anniversary Date refers to the date on which points are allocated and accumulated on an owners membership. Every year on the Anniversary Date the points are allocated by the respective program and banked or accrued if not used. This date marks the day on which additional points will be added to your account. Knowing your Anniversary Date is important when coming to book your vacation or holiday. If planning ahead and using banked or accrued points, it is always easier to book knowing what you have available and when you will expect your next allocation.
