Accelerated Use
The term Accelerated Use is used in most cases with right to use programs, whereby the owner has a number of weeks usage over a certain number of years. An owner of an Accelerated Use program is afforded a certain number of weeks, for example 50 weeks usage within a 25-year period. The owner may use 2 weeks ownership per year whether at their home timeshare resort, or through the banking of their ownership with an exchange company. If the owner has an extended vacation period on anyone given year, or if they are gifting some usage to a family member or friend, the owner can accelerate the usage through their Accelerated Use program and use as many weeks as they wish, however this will be deducted from their overall allocated weeks.
Many timeshare owners prefer Accelerated Use programs for their flexibility and the freedom they afford, allowing the owners to plan their holidays subject to the amount of time they have available in anyone given year. One thing to note, all usage is subject to availability and should be checked with the timeshare resort in question in advance before making any firm decisions on dates.
